Welcome to the first of our monthly Access Partners Ministry Updates! Through these updates, we hope to share with you what the Lord is doing to bring Himself glory among all nations. Thank you for the many ways in which you have partnered with our ministry. We hope that this update encourages you. Please join us in prayer that God would receive the glory due His Name through our work!
A Recent Project
Problem
Non-profit organizations in Central Asia are falling like dominos. Uzbekistan, for example, recently expelled non-profits and most missionaries are unable to return. In another country, "Brakistan," the government has begun increasing scrutiny and some missionaries are potentially in danger of losing their own visas. Faced with this situation, a Brakistan team contacted us to help establish a business.
Approach
Access Partners worked with the team to establish a business plan for an English training center. We helped the team consider several different aspects of the business, from pricing to staffing to marketing options. Along with the team, Access Partners conducted a focus group to gauge interest in this opportunity among the local community, and later trained the missionaries on how to run this business.
Outcome
The missionaries are quite excited about this opportunity since it involves something they enjoy - teaching English - while enlarging their sphere of relationships. Through this business, they look forward to spending more time with more people - and thus being able to share more about our Savior.
The team expects to launch the business in the first half of 2007.
Please pray that they would:
- Raise the necessary funding, and
- Navigate the registration paperwork well - always an adventure in this country where corruption is rampant.
An Access Partners Update
This month has been quite busy for Access Partners as we have ramped up fundraising efforts. People have been quite receptive so far and we thank God for His generosity.
This month, we are heading again to Central Asia. Lately, authorities in "Duriland" have increasingly placed restrictions in parts of that country, and a number of missionaries are being kicked out. A team has requested help as it seeks to establish a business that would help secure access to Duriland and bring the Gospel to an unreached people group. Please join with us as we pray that our God would be glorified among the people of Duriland!
Prayer Requests
- Please pray for wisdom in our "Duriland" trip. Pray that God would give us creativity and insight to discern the best business opportunity for the team.
- Please pray for our fundraising efforts. Join with us in praising God for what He has already provided. Pray that we would glorify Him by trusting in Him to continue to meet our needs.
- Please pray that through our efforts, God would be glorified and missionaries would be strengthened.
